The Southern Lakes Swimming Club is a social open water swimming club based in Queenstown, New Zealand. We care about your safety, but we are not responsible for it. When you join the club, either as a member, or you attend one of our swim days or events, you do so at your own risk. By participating in SLSC swim days or events, we assume you agree to the following:
Assumption of Risks: I am aware that open water swimming involves certain inherent risks and hazards, including but not limited to cold water, changing weather conditions, strong currents, waves, boat traffic, wildlife, and other natural and man-made dangers. I understand that these risks cannot be eliminated, and I voluntarily choose to participate in these activities, knowing that they may be hazardous to my personal safety and property.
Health and Fitness: I certify that I am in good health and have no medical conditions that would prevent me from participating in open water swimming activities. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to consult with a healthcare provider before participating if I have any concerns about my physical condition or medical history. Rules and Instructions: I agree to abide by all rules and instructions provided by Southern Lakes Swimming Club volunteers.
Waiver of Liability: I hereby release, waive, and discharge Southern Lakes Swimming Club, its officers, volunteers, and any other individuals or entities associated with the club from any and all liability for injuries, damages, or losses that may occur as a result of my participation in open water swimming activities.
Photography and Media Release: I consent to the use of any photographs, videos, or other media taken during Southern Lakes Swimming Club open water swim events for promotional purposes without compensation.
Medical Treatment: In the event of an injury or medical emergency, I authorise Southern Lakes Swimming Club to obtain medical treatment on my behalf and agree to assume all costs associated with such treatment.
Insurance: I understand that Southern Lakes Swimming Club does not provide personal insurance coverage and that I am responsible for my own health and accident insurance.
