Welcome to the best little open water swimming club in Queenstown
Kia ora! We’re the Southern Lakes Swimming Club – a not-for-profit social sports club that loves swimming in Lake Whakatipu (Queenstown) and beyond.
We’re here to help promote safe open water swimming in Lake Whakatipu and other lakes in the Southern Lakes region. The club welcomes swimmers of all kinds: lake swimming obsessives, tentative toe-dippers, Ironman triathletes and everyone in between.

Swimming in Queenstown
We swim in Lake Whakatipu every Saturday during the summer and most Saturdays during the winter. We run social swimming events for members throughout the summer and train together for local open water swimming races.
Our official home is a designated swimming lane on the Frankton Arm of Lake Whakatipu (near the Coast Guard building and the Scout Hut).
